Billing- when?

I went live this week and it is working ok, but as far as I can see my direct debit hasn't even been set up yet. So when did you get billed? Usually phone lines are charged in advance.

As far as I see from the letter they sent me, billing will be quarterly.

I asked SSE the same just today (on Live Chat) and they told me I would be billed quarterly and my first bill would be in August (I was connected last week). No Direct Debit was showing on my account yesterday when I checked, but I can see it has now been set up today.

I rang them last month as my online account said quarterly billing. The adviser told me I would be paying monthly and my details have also now changed to variable direct debit.

Thanks folks - seems like I'm not alone then. I'm sure they'll want some money eventually!
