I think SSE will make everyone wait until it goes in front of the ombudsman, they can't afford to let those of us on cahshback deals go early!! That said, they are failing to provide the advertised service, so maybe an approach to the ASA is in order first? There was a poster on Thinkbroadband that was offered out of his contract early, back in October last year, so it does happen.

Also, they were saying on TBB that the Ofcom definition of Ultrafast is over 100mb, fo offering their product also goes against those guidelines!!

So that article was dated 1 December 2015. SSE are misleading potential customers, that must be a get out of jail free card?

There is not yet a consensus on a definition for these ultrafast services, with views on the minimum download speed ranging from 100Mbit/sto 1Gbit/ s.
Figure 14 shows the current coverage of broadband services in UK with download speeds of 100Mbit/s and 300Mbit/s

At first I noticed my speed dropping to around 30mb from 75mb at peak times and to be honest I wasn't too bothered because of the price as I still see 30mb to be fast enough for me.

However my speeds are now dropping to around 12mb! I could get faster on a non fibre line in my area, this is getting a joke!

Tried to call SSE yesterday but after 20mins of waiting I give up and hung up.

Anyone had a news from them? Something is seriously wrong!

Can you charge you for a free service though ?

And can they actually charge you more than what it would cost in total eg 18x£21= £378

It seems wrong and unjustified but I suppose if they declare it upfront in the T&C they can charge what they like. T-Mobile operated in the same way when I was a customer in 2009.
