Let us know how the engineer visit goes tomorrow. Obvious that the issue is external but would be interesting if they found anything whilst looking.

Went out last night, so no testing, but the graph shows a big latency spike again:

About the same time again as TMN showed a slowdown:

Up and ready for the engineer :D Of course, you know if I had stayed in bed they would be knocking my door down now. As it is, I will probably be last on the list and waiting until about 12.30!!

Engineer turned up and told me there was a bridge tap error on the line (funny, +Net said something similar to me 12 months ago but never progressed it). Turns out, at point of entry there was a split in the line before it got to the master socket, which supplied a socket upstairs. The socket upstairs was branded NTL, so I had previously assumed it wasn't connected as no cable in this house any more. The spur was taken off and made good, the bridge tap fault cleared. Engineer ran tests which came back as a good line with no issue. He changed the filtered faceplate again and my new sync is 55mb down 16mb up, so an increase of around 6mb down and 3mb up.

Engineer has said that looking at my speed results over the weeks, it looks like SSE (Daisy) are capping speeds, he wouldn't commit to congestion. He has said that I now need to monitor it for a few days to see what happens. I also seem to have re- connected again onto ar88, which was seeing drops between 8pm- midnight. Busy weekend this week, hopefully the auto tests will keep me up to date.

At least you got some faults fixed if nothing else, might create a slightly more stable connection.

There was a drop last night from 51 to 39. I am going to try and get off this gateway over the weekend to see if that makes a difference.

Something strange happening about 5pm yesterday and the latency hump isn't there:

A bit of a bumpy ride yesterday:

I've now managed to get off ar88 and am back on ar86. Let's see how this scenario plays out :geek:
