Speed Test Results - r1kkster

Post by r1kkster »

Woke up at 6am to find no internet at all - considering SSE have booked an engineer between 8 - 1 today.

I just swapped over kit from BT to SSE and 2 mins later up and running. So far so good (although no engineer).

Tested connection using various test sites via WiFi 5G

SPEEDTEST : 75Mbps / 18Mbps
FAST : 73Mbps
ThinkBB :75.4Mbps / 18.2Mbps
TestMy : 75.3Mps / 17.5Mbps

I'm testing from IPSWICH - i have test on and off for the last 3 hours and seems constant so far but i will wait and see.

I live in an old victorian property and the internal walls are sold brick - but the WiFi reaches in my back garden 50 meters away - so far so good

Day 1 of SSE

yesterday about 6pm my connection speeds dropped - i called SSE and they said wait 10 days to allow the line to settle but when i tested again at 7pm and then 8pm and then again at 9.30pm - I got good speeds as i had during the day

Day 2 of SSE

Tested connection using various test sites via WiFi 5G

SPEEDTEST : 75Mbps / 18Mbps
FAST : 73Mbps
ThinkBB :75.4Mbps / 18.2Mbps
TestMy : 75.3Mps / 17.5Mbps

Agreed. I think around 8pm might be the crunch time though. r1kkster, have you got access to any streaming services like Netflix, iplayer etc to test mid evening?. I think another forum member (deanos) had some dire results in the evening with streaming.

cheers
