SSE Broadband - Only Available to existing SSE Energy Customers

Post by admin »

It would seem that from today SSE Phone and Broadband is only available to existing SSE energy customers - according to their website.

This applies to three of the four packages:

FREE SSE Ultrafast Fibre Broadband with our Talk Anytime package
FREE SSE Superfast Fibre Broadband with our Talk Anytime package
FREE SSE Superfast Fibre Broadband with our Talk Anytime Plus package

The only package available to those who are not SSE energy customers is:

SSE Everyday Broadband + Talk Weekend

Wow, didn't see that coming.

The original offer was in place till 14th November so where do they stand now they changed it?

If you have already ordered and been accepted, the offer will have to stand. If you were dawdling about waiting to see if things got better, they have done you a favour :D

For those of us early adopters having issues, shame this didn't happen 6 weeks ago!!

Guess they're desperately trying to stem the flow of new customers as quickly as possible.

Maybe this is a positive thing for those who are currently signed up or about to transfer over.

If they are unable to cope with the demand then a slowdown in the take up can only be a positive thing to give them chance to catch up and do what needs to be done to improve services.

Agreed. It seems like they're taking some responsibility for the situation they've created and though in a way it's a shame such a good deal is off the market it was likely never going to be sustainable.

Agreed x 2 :D
Energy customers are a fickle thing, and as this now limits new phone/bb customers to SSE's main source of revenue (who could well churn if the phone/bb service is not up to scratch), it might provide some more focus on their part.
However, looking at it the otherway, it could also be an attempt to lure in new Energy customers with a cheap phone/bb deal.
Time will tell .... :o

Shame they didn't test their resilience by doing this first, rather than closing the stable door after the horse has bolted!!! It has been terrible for me this week, hoping to be one of the "churn" soon :(

Rules are now relaxed a bit - PhoneBb now available to all if asked directly. CSAs not to push it. Pffft.
