help with tp link router

i am trying to set up this router

but its not connecting , im struggling to find the extra settings

If you're on SSE's fibre network, you need a VDSL modem - standalone or integrated into your router. The device you link to has an ADSL modem.

I have been trying to set up ADSL TP-LINK Archer VR600 modem router. I went through every setting I could with technical advice from SSE but nothing would make it connect to the internet. Can anyone share if they have had success connecting a third party modem-router?
