Mine was wireless, I have a Chromebook doing the regular speedtests though wired direct to the ethernet port. Will try and run another from there.

I would bet a pint that your line is working fine
imho (based on what I am seeing on my connection), I think any performance differences between gateways is limited to short periods where one might be underutilised and other's effectvely "full" . I really don't think that there generally are over/under utilised gateways if assessed over a few days period. I have been on ar88 for a while now, and had a couple of days of excellent performance, and it's dropped back to the usual afternoon/evening dips ...My connection improved a week or two ago, while my traceroutes were going through the ar88 router - seen a massive deterioration again over the last couple of days now that my connection is going through ar86
