That's strange! Every test I have done on BT Wholesale I get a full line speed. The only time I got that to slowdown like your result is when other traffic on the line caused congestion (another download / update etc.) Are you sure there is nothing else download or using the Internet when you are doing that test?

Positive nothing else is going on. I do the test when TestMyNet or TBB shows a slowdown and jump on it.

Here endeth my speed test regime. Time to give the testers a break. I have been offered a fee free migration out with £50 compensation for poor service.

Time to hunt for a new provider.

Good luck with your hunt :)
Be careful where you jump - this one makes your packet loss look good in comparison ....

(I appreciate, from previous posts, than d/l speed is your main issue, but that is nasty )

Unbelievable!!! The day after I initiate my migration out and the best speeds my line has ever achieved:

I really hope SSE sort out the problems for those that are just joining or are choosing to stay. FWIW, I don't think they will be a bad provider, but I do think they were very naive on the expected take up of their offer (which has now been rescinded).

All the best to all stayers.

I have been advised I can leave penalty free as daisy said they can't do anything about the peak times speeds.

I like your thinking, though the speeds I've had are very good
