I have had some problems too and after speaking to them today have been told to use the BT wholesale test and run 3 tests , then after the result click further diagnostics then enter phone number I use and the results will be sent to SSE automatically on my account.

Problem is, the BTW tester shows no problems. It won't look at the congestion bottleneck, nor will it check their traffic management to see it isn't too over zealous. I did have one test yesterday that showed well below expectations, but the rest were fine and dandy. SSE need to be looking at their network (provider) as the problem is not with BT.

Download :: 6.2 Mbps 777 kB/s up arrow Upload :: 10.5 Mbps
You might have a problem...
Your connection scored only 18% of the Daisy Communications average (82% slower). This does not always mean that you're in bad shape. If the Internet package you subscribe to is slower than most people using your ISP you'll see this message.

Yes, but my internet connection should be in the top 5 of the UK based on speed.... At least it was with BT...

Can you guess when my line changed from PN to SSE?

Part of a reply I received from SSE, while discussing the poor download speeds:

I would like to advise that these issues are not widespread and are more local and being experienced by a small amount of our customers.

Yup, it must just be me....

Well, surprised I am...

Instead of the usual slow down at 3pm, my speeds have shot back up to my max. a TBB graph shows a better single and multi thread speed result. Coincidence?
