Speed Test Results - Teddy

Post by Teddy » Thu Jun 02, 2016 11:25 am

Had my fibre installed today.

Used to get around 6mbps on normal broadband.

The engineer & router says I should get 79.98 mbps down & 19.99 up.

So it looks like i,m already being speed throttled by daisy or maybe it,ll sort itself out soon. Well I hope so anyway!

Hi Teddy,

If you have only just had it installed I believe it can take up to 10 days to stablise.

Did you run the speed test on wireless or a wired connection, and did you have anything else streaming, downloading or other internet devices in use at the same time ? - It may be worth running the speed test from one of the other speed test servers too to see how it compares.

Thanks

It was on a wired connection. Nothing else was running.

Tested on different sites as well and the speeds are getting slower.

Latest one is 13mbps down & 9mbps up.

I,ll just have to see what the speeds are when it stabilizes in 10 days.

You may have a stuck profile, something you could check with +Net, but I think you have to contact SSE to ask. I am lead to believe fibre doesn't have a training period as adsl does, but I would still give it over the weekend to try and sort itself out, then get on the phone if need be.
